Being raised in the midwest and then moving to Seattle (which has its own racial issues), I cant disagree. I see it more easily these days and now I see how it has always been prevalent.
In the 80’s there was a movie called ‘Soul Man’ where a white boy got a ‘perma-tan’ and passed as black to get a black scholarship to go to college. Blackface is funny right? Stealing other peoples opportunities is hilarious right?
The movie was supposed to make it look cool to be in black face and I have to wonder now who wwere the producers behind that.
It has always been with us and we have to be always vigilant.
