Monolith architecture would be putting 'view'(UI/UX) in the app as well and other components that are unneccessary to the api and are better distributed. Security is KEY to every application... EVERY APPLICATION!

Plus monolith is not the evil word you think it is. Amazon has shown that monoliths are far more scalable than distributed systems especially for API's.
