So you are upset that the article is hostile? Not that it is wrong but that it is hostile.
In the early 2000’s a technology came along called ‘Ruby’ that was overly hyped and technologists like myself tried it out and warned that it was not scalable and had several flaws. We tried alternative like Groovy which met our standards but the Groovy hype was unstoppable because people did not listen to the issue that technologists pointed out.
Businesses were unable to scale and spent millions of dollars replacing it.
People lost jobs, had to be retrained and lots of business struggled and went under.
So when you think hype is harmless… think again
GraphQL does serve a purpose (as I state in the article) but it is not as wide as people think. It is a very specific use case.
