well that is the whole point though isn't it. They are marketed as API, they target people looking for API application, they talk about hem as if they are API's. They promote them like they are API's and HENCE... people THINK they ARE API'S!!!

I would also add as a result of their EXTREMELY poor implementation, you generally get 1/3rd the performance of a traditional API application on the SAME HARDWARE. So their usefulness is limited to small businesses and researchers.
